Brighternet specialises in a number of areas essential for developing high quality web sites and online applications, safe for future evolutions of the Internet.
- Web standards
- Usability and accessibility
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
- Semantic web
- Iterative development
Brighternet works with a variety of web technologies, depending on project requirements.
- HTML or XHTML and CSS for content display.
- PHP or Ruby for back-end functionality.
- SQL or NoSQL databases for data storage.
We use open source frameworks wherever possible, to prevent us reinventing the wheel. For site builds, we currently favour Drupal, Ruby on Rails or nanoc, depending on the complexity and nature of the site. Our choice of framework is dependent on project requirements and not limited to our current favourites.
We favour a fast, iterative lifecycle, where continuous integration ensures quality and regular feedback reduces risk by keeping you informed and in control. Our software comes backed by stringent tests and useful documentation.
